  • A little more than a month ago I decided that I would start making videos of me performing my new songs and post them on my You Tube channel.  Well, the music is flowing like wine on a cool summer night and I can’t stop writing, so check back regularly for new songs!

  • I was asked to do the title track for a short documentary about a boy with Autism called “Happy Life: A Portrait of Carlos Saran”.  The song turned out great and undeniably happy!
  • For the umpteenth time, I licensed the track ‘Whatever Happened’ for a promotional video to a new company call INDIE POWER! that helps “to further the goal of helping develop the cutting edge of new artists and labels with innovative marketing and talent.”
  • I’ll be playing live with Aura on June 12th at the famed Viper Room in Hollywood.  Looking forward to performing some new songs with the band so come out and see us!
  • Finally, my new music player will make hearing my music much more accessible, so please check out my ‘Songwriting’ page to hear a plethora of tracks I’ve written!

Thanks for visiting and check back soon!

It’s been quite a while of since I’ve posted anything, but I’m back with several updates!

  • ‘I Heart Hollywood’ is complete!  It took a long time, but we finally had a chance to screen the film and even hold a benefit in Santa Monica to raise money for the non-profit organization, Hollywood Heart.  Please check back soon or visit Flower Goddess Productions to find out when ‘IHH’ will be playing at a festival near you.

  • For the first three months of 2010, I had the extraordinary privilege of being the Teacher’s Assistant for esteemed lyricist, Marty Panzer, at UCLA Extension.  Marty has written hits for Barry Manilow, Julio Iglesias, Kenny Rogers among many others.  It had been three years since I attended Marty’s class as a student, and it was an honor and a wonderful learning experience to work with him.
  • ‘Appointment in Vancouver’ screened in February and the documentary was incredible!  Casey Puckett, the skier whom this short film was about, unfortunately did not place at the 2010 Olympics in Skier Cross, but nonetheless, the film is brilliant and I will post when it airs on TV.
  • I’ve been playing live with Aura again recently and we will be back on stage April 22nd at Air Conditioned Supper Club in Venice, CA.  Maura and I have been hard at work finishing material for her upcoming album which we will be in studio recording shortly.
  • Speaking of Aura, she introduced me in late 2009 to Joey Peters, former drummer of the bands Cracker and Grant Lee Buffalo.  Joey runs a music house, Sound on Screen, and together, Maura, Joey and I have been churning out tracks for licensing.  The first track we completed, ‘Always on the Run’, was licensed to Megatrax
  • I just heard from Michael Bayouth at Son of Jason Films that his horror film, ‘Sam Hell’, has been picked up for a distribution deal!  I wrote the title track, ‘Another Day’, as well as licensed two more tracks to this scary movie.  As soon as I know more, I will post the details!
  • I reconnected with my friend Matt Franco from high school a couple of months ago.  He had produced a PSA for a non-profit water brand based out of Spokane, Washington called Athena Water.  Watch the video HERE!
  • In the most recent news, Lauren Pardini and I, in association with Levy Music Publishing, have licensed ‘Rockstar of the Hollywood Scene’ as the theme song for ‘Kiki’s American Adventure’, a new reality show soon-to-be airing on Playboy TV.  The show is about Kiki, a former adult film star, who decides to move to Los Angeles to further pursue her adult film career.  More details soon!

Good things are happening!

  • The loose ends are starting to finally get tied up with the film 'I Heart Hollywood' (IHH) that I have been music supervising.  I've officially written five tracks for the film, including collaborations with Lauren Pardini and Ben Cohen.  Aura volunteered her powerful and inspired vocals on the track 'Beautiful Sight' written by Ben and I.  The final couple of tracks are coming together and the picture will be locked shortly!
  • More news on IHH!!!  The film's producers Mashari Bain and Ci Ci Foster have launched a new MUST-SEE version of their website at www.flowergoddessproductions.com.  I highly encourage everyone to check it out.  In addition to the new website, Flower Goddess Productions is selling a brilliant 2010 calendar titled "Hollywood, The Good, The Bad, and the Funny" designed exclusively for charity. All proceeds go to an amazing organization called HOLLYWOOD HEART (www.hollywoodheart.org) that gives back to at-risk youth and youth affected/infected by HIV and AIDS, and helps them learn about the movie industry. Calendars are only $9.99 plus S&H.  As a marketing tool, Flower Goddess put together a video FEATURING A SONG I WROTE FOR THE FILM TITLED 'BABY STEPS' WHICH YOU CAN VIEW HERE!!!!!!  PLEASE support this amazing cause and purchase your calendar at www.flowergoddessproductions.com!
  • I recently wrote one track and licensed another to an awesome documentary titled 'Appointment in Vancouver', about soon-to-be five time Olympic skier Casey Puckett.  Casey is set to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and after having missed out on receiving a medal in his previous four attempts, he is taking one final shot this winter.  This project was a blast to work on, as I was given the opportunity to write an orchestral 'fanfare' piece and I had an absolute blast composing it!  You can find out more about this documentary at www.appointmentinvancouver.com and please check back to find out when this will air on the Universal HD channel in the next couple of months and let's root for Casey to come home with a medal!
  • Finally, for the past several weeks, I have been in 'The Songwriter's Rendezvous' (www.songwritersrendezvous.com), an advanced songwriting workshop hosted by Suzan Koc.  I can't begin to explain how much I've learned from Suzan and my fellow (and incredible) workshopees!  I feel myself growing so much as a writer recently and it feels incredible.

That's all for now boys and girls!  Thanks for visiting!

  • A few months ago I began work as the Music Supervisor on a feature length documentary titled ‘I Heart Hollywood’.  Briefly, this honest and engaging film is about 14 actresses and their real-life stories of trying to make it as an actress in Hollywood.  This project has given me the wonderful privilege of working with talented director Rebecca Hu as well as producers Mashari Bain & Ci Ci Foster.  Additionally, I’ve written a few tracks myself for the film and I look forward to sharing them soon.  ‘I Heart Hollywood’ is being submitted to the Sundance Film Festival, so keep your fingers crossed!  For more about ‘I Heart Hollywood’, please visit www.flowergoddessproductions.com and check out their current projects.

  • As you may or may not know, I have been performing with the band Aura since the beginning of 2009.  Maura Murphy, lead singer of Aura, who I also have collaborated on several songs with, led the band to the finals of the Guitar Center Battle of the Bands hosted by Revolution Entertainment.  Aura took the stage on Sunday, August 23, and after a stellar performance, finished in 5th place out of over 100 bands!
  • I have recently been collaborating on new songs with a couple of incredibly talented songwriters in Lauren Pardini and Jesse Stern.  I look forward to releasing new tracks from these wonderful co-writing sessions in the near future.  Check out Lauren Pardini at www.myspace.com/laurenpardini and Jesse Stern at www.jessestern.com
  • Besides providing tracks for ‘I Heart Hollywood’, I have recently licensed an instrumental recording of an older track titled ‘Happens For a Reason’ to a new Randy Couture MMA Training DVD and two songs, ‘Over the Edge’ and ‘Take Me to Tomorrow’ to an independent short film titled, ‘Snapshot’.

April 3, 2009

Hey everyone, thanks for visiting my new and improved website!  I’ve been extremely busy working on multiple projects over the past few months.  Here’s a look at what I’ve been doing and what to look for…

  • So, every February RPM Challenge offers a test to songwriters around the world to write and produce an entire album in the 28 days of the month.  Well, this year, I set out accomplish one of my life goals by writing, producing, and recording my very own acoustic album.  The album is streaming HERE and I would love to hear from anyone and everyone what they think.  I put all my heart and soul into this record and had a blast doing so!  Furthermore, my plan is to begin playing shows by this summer and even POTENTIALLY put together a full band and record the album like that too…stay tuned!

  • Back in mid-December 2008, I licensed four tracks from Aura, Laurie Anna and Matt Thomas to 7 Logik Technology, Inc. for a state-of-the-art karaoke machine they will be unveiling in the coming months.  The songs licensed were Aura – ‘Walk in the Shadows’, Laurie Anna – ‘Ordinary’, and Matt Thomas – ‘Who We Are’ and ‘Big Me’
  • It is a privilege and an honor to work together once again with Michael Bayouth (Sam Hell) on his new feature length mockumentary, ‘Take 22’.  This movie is hilarious and even has a role played by Tom Wilson (Biff from Back to the Future)!  On this project, I reproduced the song ‘Chelsea Dagger’ by The Fratellis.  On the track are vocals by an up and coming outstanding singer, Scott Goldbaum.  The film is due out this summer.
  • It has been almost a year working with Aura on writing and producing her album, ‘Fallen Angel’.  We are only a couple tracks away from having the record done and it is sounding phenomenal!  In January, Aura gave me one of my greatest experiences in Los Angeles as I played keys on three songs for her at a sold out show at the Key Club.  Being on stage in front of a packed house, playing keys (which I’ve never played live before) and working with such a talented artist is a blessing!
  • Laurie Anna and I have been off and on working on her long awaited debut album, and we’re finally closing in on a finished product.  With 9 out of 10 tracks completed, it’s only a matter of time before the album is finished, released, and Laurie brings her vibrant personality and music to the stage.
  • For nearly a year, Matt Thomas and I have been developing his hip-hop sound and image.  With his album a little more than half way complete, we are looking at a release by the end of this summer.
  • Speaking of Matt, I recently was brought in to produce and help write the music for a seriously hilarious viral video project titled ‘Facebook That Ho, Bro’.  Writer and executive producer Michael Doneger along with cinematographer Kieran Murphy drafted me for the project and I brought along Matt Thomas.  This video will be dropping on a You Tube near you soon, and there is no way you can miss it!

Thanks again for visiting my new and improved website and please check back regularly for the updated ‘Song of the Month’ free to download as well as any and all new projects I will be working on.

Rock on!

The Photo[Genics TV website has officially launched! The opening video sequence containing the music that I scored specifically for the piece is the same one that premiered at Mercedes Benz LA Fashion Week 2008. Please check that out here and when you finish that, I highly encourage you to check out the new Photo[Genics TV website where you can hear another 14 tracks from me in the show titled 'Backstage Pass'. What an amazing day. I worked extremely hard for the past few days composing the music for a promotional video by Photo[Genics. The best news about the video was that is premiered at the Mercedes Benz LA Fashion Week 2008, opening up the fashion show for fashion designer Julia Clancey. It was truly remarkable to attend the fashion show and be a part of something so special. The video (which will be posted soon) is incredible and I am honored to have had the chance to work with the wonderful people at PG.
